The End of a Journey (Week 12 of Student teaching)
I think the biggest thing I've learned from this experience is to trust myself. Trust in my abilities and my knowledge but don't be afraid to admit when you are wrong. Oh and always always always keep learning because you will never know everything.
It didn't really hit me until about 2:00 on Friday that this experience was coming to an end. All of us have been preparing for student teaching since Freshman year and now its magically over. In a little over a week I will be graduating with two degrees and I just can't believe I did it. I accomplished both degrees oh and student taught in a pandemic...
Student teaching in a pandemic is a wild experience that comes with so much extra stress. I am thankful that I remained healthy throughout the entire experience. If you would of told me that we would all be wearing masks to school five years ago, I would of looked at you like you are crazy.
The biggest thing I am going to miss about student teaching is working with Mr. Sturgis everyday and teaching the kids. Mr. Sturgis and I worked well together. I am also going to miss seeing those light bulb moments when a kid finally understands something.
Overall I really wanna thank Mr. Sturgis and the students at Durant High School for allowing me to be apart of their world for 4 months! I loved almost every moment and learned so much.
Keep learning and I'll see you at the Plant Sale!
