More Roadblocks and a Shortened Week (Week 5 Student Teaching)

This week was rough but still pretty good. It started off with some car trouble. My car (his name is Jeffery) just barely made it through state fair with a leaking water tank.

On Monday, Jeffery went to my dads shop to be repaired. Well, unfortunately once my dad got a better look at the problem he realized it was more severe than he thought and that the whole water pump needed to replaced. This is a part that needed to be ordered so my dad patched Jeffery up the best he could with plans to do a full repair that upcoming weekend so I could make the hour drive to Tampa that night.

Well, Jeffery had other plans and when my dad went to check the water levels before leaving to go to Tampa we discovered that there was ZERO water in the tank..... which meant there was no way Jeffery was going more than half a mile.

Luckily, Dad had already ordered the part and it was expected to arrive the next day. Unfortunately this meant I was going to have to miss that Tuesday at school because I had no way to get there.

My dad worked all night Tuesday on Jeffery and by the next morning he was good as new.

On Wednesday, I got to attend UF's internship seminar in place of the in-person seminars Penn State was having in the upcoming weeks. At first I was very nervous as I was going to be meeting a bunch of new people but they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel apart of their group.

At this seminar, the main focus was hearing about each others experiences, providing suggestions and starting on a PLC. It was great to hear that others were having the same issues I was having in my classroom and I learned some new ways to do things.

After the seminar, I headed back to school to help Sturgis administer a test that would determine our Nursery Landscape CDE team along with our Floriculture CDE team.

On Thursday, we focused a lot of our time on finishing up fixing the irrigation problems we were having outside (the problem was a little more complex than expected). We also worked on the Punnett Square lesson Thursday and Friday.

Overall it was quite the crazy week but I also enjoyed it!
