About Me

 Hey y'all!

My name is Emily Schulz and welcome to my blog!

I am currently a Senior at the Pennsylvania State University and I am a double major in Agricultural Education and Dance.

I was born and raised in Pinellas County, Florida.
I grew up on the outskirts of the city of Largo, near a small beach town called Indian Rocks Beach.
When I'm not at Penn State, you will most likely find me within a few miles of the beach.
I attended Largo High School ExCEL Magnet program along with Career Academies of Seminole (CAS) for Veterinary Science.

At the end of 8th grade, I listed Veterinary Science as my last elective option. I honestly added it as a joke because I never thought they would actually place me in the class.

Even though I had it listed as my third choice, I somehow ended up in the class.

The Veterinary Science class was held at another school that we call the Ag Farm (CAS). It was unique, because students were bused from three different high schools for only a part of the day and attended a variety of technical classes. Once the double class period ended, we were bused back to our home high school.

During my Sophomore year of High School, I joined FFA and started showing pigs at the Florida State Fair. By the end of my high school career, I had owned four different pigs (3 Hampshire barrows and 1 Duroc breeding gilt).  I had also passed my Florida Veterinary Assistant Certification Exam.

Although I have developed a passion for Ag, my first love is dance. I started dancing at the age of 3 and pretty much never stopped. When I was 6, I had my first major performance at Disneyland's California Adventure.

As time went on, I decided that I wanted to pursue dance on a professional level. My family and I have traveled across the US and overseas for performances.

It is because of dance that I have had the opportunity to visit (and perform in) Germany  Austria, the Czech Republic, France and many cities in the US.

Growing up, my family has been very involved in our local community through the Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach.

My dad joined Rotary when I was 6 years old and since then the whole family has gotten involved. In fact, not only is my dad a member but my mom and I are now also members (and I'm sure my brother will eventually also join).
